How They’re Made

Every salt pig is carefully handmade in a small pottery studio in Berkshire, UK, using traditional techniques blended with a contemporary aesthetic.

• Small Batch Craftsmanship: Made in limited runs of around 30 pieces, each salt pig is shaped over a two-day period, then dried for a week.

• Fired Twice for Strength: The first firing reaches 1000°C, preparing each piece for glazing. Our glazes are mixed in-house from raw powders, then poured or dipped to create the organic, flowing patterns that make every salt pig one-of-a-kind. A final firing at 1260°C locks in durability and finish.

• Sustainably Made: Renewable materials and eco-conscious studio practices help minimise environmental impact, supporting ethical, small-batch pottery.
