Dungeons & Dragons at Lemon & Jinja

We’re bringing something new to the Lemon & Jinja community…! A monthly Dungeons & Dragons group, gathering around the table to share stories, get creative, meet new people and, of course, roll some dice.

We’re starting small, with one table and a dedicated Game Master, with just four spaces available for our first group. Our first table will be a Dungeons & Dragons 5e (2014 edition) party, with a new adventure each month. Sessions will include a mix of roleplaying and combat, making space for new players, seasoned adventurers and anyone who hasn’t played in a while.

Whether you’re completely new to D&D or already know your way around a character sheet, this is a welcoming, safe space to meet new people, have fun and enjoy a shared adventure together.

Bring your own character sheet for a Level 1 adventure, or pick one up on the night. All you need to do is give your character a name and a little personality to make them your own.

No dice? No problem! We’ll have dice available for anyone who needs them, and rulebooks and starter guides can be shared around the table too.

A little note on the rules: our GM will be running the 2014 rules, so please don’t bring 2024 character sheets or rulebooks. Who knows, if you’re keen on the 2024 rules, perhaps you could start your own table!

You’ll meet once a month, getting to know the group, building your characters and creating a story together as the adventure unfolds. And this is just the beginning. If there’s enough interest, we’d love to grow the club, adding a second table and potentially meeting more often.

Begin the festive season with a calm, creative evening at Lemon & Jinja.

In this relaxed two-hour workshop, you’ll be guided through simple yet beautiful painting techniques to create and decorate your own set of three ceramic Christmas baubles.

You’ll learn how to work with colour, pattern and detail to create baubles that feel personal and unique to you. Whether you choose traditional festive colours, something a little more colourful, or simply follow your own creative instincts, you’ll leave with three handmade decorations ready to hang on your tree, give as thoughtful gifts, or keep as a special reminder of the season.

No previous painting experience is needed. This is a gentle, creative session designed to help you slow down, switch off and enjoy some time away from the Christmas rush. Alison will guide you through each step, so you can relax, experiment and have fun with your painting.

All materials and refreshments are included in your ticket.

Want to keep painting? Additional ceramic baubles will be available to purchase on the evening for £3 each, so you can create a few more to add to your collection.

Ali is a professional calligraphy and watercolour artist, specialising in creating memorable creative experiences through live illustration, bespoke commissions and relaxing, creative workshops in Hampshire and beyond! She was always obsessed with creativity! Even as a young child, she would spend hours drawing, making and creating.

Ali was a teacher for 19 years - it has made sense to transfer these skills to teaching adult workshops. Teaching workshops is such a passion for her - she have taught a wide range of calligraphy and watercolour classes since 2021, with many attendees joining her repeatedly. We cannot wait to welcome her in!

This is so important to me: I want to encourage everyone to connect with themself and discover a new creative hobby. My mission with my workshops is simple: to provide a space for people to come and be creative, and to share as much of my knowledge as I possibly can with them!'

Join Alison Jane for a relaxing and creative evening of Autumnal Watercolour Painting, inspired by the wonderful shapes, colours and textures of the season.

Using a selection of real pumpkins as your inspiration, you’ll have the chance to slow down, get creative and explore the details that make each pumpkin unique; from their beautiful autumnal colours to their wonderfully gnarly bumps, twists and textures.

The workshop will begin with a gentle warm-up, where Alison will introduce you to some simple watercolour techniques and ways to create texture, depth and detail in your paintings. You’ll then put these techniques into practice as you create your own selection of pumpkin illustrations from observation.

Whether you’re completely new to watercolour or already enjoy painting, this workshop is designed to be relaxed, friendly and accessible. There’s no pressure to create a perfect painting; it’s all about taking some time for yourself, experimenting with the medium and enjoying the process.
