The Brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa) is a South American tree in the family Lecythidaceae, and it is also the name of the tree's commercially harvested edible seeds. Brazil nuts are notable for diverse content of micronutrients, especially a high amount of selenium, an essential mineral with antioxidant properties. Selenium plays an important role in reproduction, metabolism, and immune health.

Brazil nuts can be eaten raw as a snack, or chopped and added to muesli and other cereals.

Cashews are harvested from an evergreen cashew tree and the seed is typically eaten as a snack. Cashews are very versatile and high in protein, vitamins, minerals and fibre.

They can be eaten savoury or sweet, salted or raw and can even be blended into a plant-based cashew ‘cheese’. Cashews are also a great addition to sauces such as pesto.

The Hazelnut is a fruit from the Hazel tree. They are high in Vitamin E, healthy fats, protein and fibre. Hazelnuts can be eaten as a snack or chopped onto salads and cereals.

What’s the difference between almond flour and ground almonds?
