Unit price per2-3.30pm - the event is hosted upstairs
Our breastfeeding peer support gatherings are all about connection, shared experience and feeling held by community. These relaxed, welcoming meet-ups are facilitated by the lovely Polly Smith, IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant), and are open to breastfeeding mums at every stage of their journey.
Whether you’re exclusively breastfeeding, mixed feeding, pumping, or simply want to sit in a space where you feel understood, this is time just for you. To come along, connect, chat, and feel supported without judgement.
Held upstairs in the calm, cosy setting of Lemon & Jinja’s café, these sessions offer a gentle space to meet other mums, ask questions, share your story, or just listen. Support is compassionate, evidence-based and offered in a way that centres you and your experience.
These sessions are completely free, but booking is required so we can keep the space comfortable and supportive for everyone.
Polly qualified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2020 and works one-to-one with families, offering expert support for more complex breastfeeding challenges. Her work is grounded in empathy, evidence-based knowledge and a deep respect for each family’s unique journey.
Her passion for infant feeding support began long before qualifying as an IBCLC. Polly is a mother of premature twins, and her own experiences navigating breastfeeding challenges are what first inspired her commitment to supporting others.
Since qualifying as a breastfeeding counsellor in 2014, Polly has volunteered extensively within her community. She leads local breastfeeding support groups, facilitates antenatal breastfeeding classes, and provides one-to-one support. Over the years, she has supported hundreds of nursing parents with care, kindness and compassion. Alongside her private practice, she continues to volunteer her time to support breastfeeding families.
Above all, Polly is dedicated to helping every nursing parent reach their own feeding goals. She believes families know what’s right for them, and her role is to listen, understand and empower parents to make informed choices with confidence.

Please book a time slot for The Metalsmith, but you can drop in with Resewn Textiles and Steve the Bike Guy
We’re excited to launch our brand-new Mending Café alongside our much-loved Clothes Swap on Sunday 19th July! Creating an even bigger celebration of sustainable living, repair, reuse and community.
Whether you're refreshing your wardrobe at the clothes swap, browsing the refill shop, or enjoying a slice from the returning Stones Throw Pizza, you'll also have the opportunity to bring along treasured items that need a little care and attention. From jewellery and clothing repairs to bike maintenance, our skilled repairers will be on hand throughout the day to help extend the life of the things you love.
Jewellery Repairs (The Metalsmith)
25-minute bookable appointments are available throughout the day. Slots cost £6 and can be booked in advance via Lemon & Jinja. You’re welcome to stay and chat during your appointment or leave your items while you explore the event.
Services available on the day include: chain untangling, jewellery cleaning, checking claws and stone settings, ring measuring, advice on repurposing silver, gold and platinum jewellery, replacing a silver clasp (£10), replacing a silver joining ring (£5)
Additional repairs may be possible depending on the item and materials involved.
Clothing Repairs & Alteration Advice (Resewn Textiles)
Bring along clothing, bedding, household textiles and other fabric items that need repair, mending or general care. Each item will be assessed individually, with repairs carried out where possible on a first-come, first-served basis. This service operates on a pay-what-you-can basis, helping to keep repair accessible while recognising the time, skill and care involved in each piece of work.
Not every item will be suitable for repair on the day, but guidance and advice can be offered for future repairs or alterations where appropriate. While you wait, you can enjoy the clothes swap, browse the shop, or relax with refreshments from the café.
Bike Repairs & Servicing (Steve the Bike Guy)
Give your bike some much-needed attention with our drop-in bike repair service. No booking is required. Our mechanic will be able to carry out 'check & tune' services (approximately £50), which include:
- Brake checks and adjustments
- Gear checks and adjustments
- Tyre inspection, inflation and wear checks
- Cable inspections
- Headset adjustments
- Bolt safety checks and re-torquing
Smaller repair jobs, such as puncture repairs or gear adjustments, are available from £15 for a 15-minute repair.
The Mending Café is all about helping people repair rather than replace, learn more about caring for their belongings, and connect with others who share a passion for sustainability. Whether you're bringing a favourite necklace back to life, rescuing a well-loved garment, or getting your bike road-ready again, we hope you'll join us for a day of practical skills, community spirit and conscious consumption.
Come along on 19th July and discover how small repairs can make a big difference. And of course, join our clothes swap, too!

Taster Workshop £80pp
15th July 6 - 8pm, upstairs at Lemon & Jinja
Join Emily of The Metalsmith at Lemon & Jinja for an inspiring introduction to ethical jewellery, and give an unworn piece a brand new life.
This hands-on workshop begins with a conversation around sustainable jewellery: how to identify the pieces you already own, what to look for when buying jewellery, and how to thoughtfully repurpose items you no longer wear.
Please bring along a few pieces of jewellery to identify and work with during the session.
For the practical part of the workshop, you’ll melt down an old piece of jewellery and transform it into a beautifully simple pebble pendant - a meaningful keepsake made from something you already own. If you have a chain you’d like to pair it with, feel free to bring it along. Silver chains will also be available to purchase if needed.
This workshop is suitable for reworking both silver and 9ct yellow gold pieces. Emily will also have scrap silver available for anyone who doesn’t have jewellery to repurpose.
What to bring
Please come prepared with:
-
A few old jewellery pieces to identify and/or repurpose
-
A chain for your pendant (optional)
-
A hair tie if you have long hair
-
Glasses if needed for close-up work
-
Clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy
For safety, please avoid synthetic fabrics, loose clothing, and open-toed shoes.
Please note
A small number of leather tools will be used during the workshop. These have been sourced second-hand, well-loved, or rescued from landfill wherever possible.

You’ll then spend most of the session designing and creating your own sterling silver wrap ring, with plenty of freedom to make something that feels uniquely yours. And there’s an extra story behind the silver wire you’ll be using; its origins are a little unexpected.
What’s included:
- All the tools needed
- All the silver needed, no matter your ring size
- A detailed (short!) presentation on what’s going on in the jewellery world, how it links to current events, some fantastic initiatives and more! Plus full access to Metalsmith brain and ethical jewellery knowledge for 2 hours!
