It’s quite the marketing myth that Christmas cakes must be made weeks in advance! Here is a straightforward recipe for cake that can be made at ANY time. So now you don’t need to succumb to all the early hyped nonsense! It can even be made on Christmas Eve…!

Buy, or grab from home:

• 75g nuts (optional) eg. almonds, walnuts, pecans: chop according to preference.
• 225ml cold black tea
• 100ml whisky or brandy or Cointreau or sloe gin – whatever you prefer!
• 75ml orange juice
• 1 orange, zest only
• 2 tbsp black treacle (you can substitute this with Golden Syrup!)
• 200g butter or dairy free spread, slightly soft (optional)
• 5 eggs, lightly beaten (vegan alternatives available too)
• 20cm round tin

Comes with the instructions and list of ingredients, so no worries about having to think at all..! The jars do contain gluten, if you would like a gluten free alternative, please get in touch and we can make this for you.
