Hand harvested UK sea salt flakes. 

'We collect our mineral rich, and super clean sea water from the Atlantic by hand. This is so we can be sure that our raw material has the correct amount of salinity. After we collect the sea from our favourite spot, we then pass it through a triple filtering system, developed and designed to preserve all the goodness from the Jurassic Coast.

After producing a concentrated brine, we watch the sea salt flakes form in our gently heated pans. This is a truly magical moment, and we will never cease to be amazed. The flakes perform an almost dance like motion on the surface of the pan, and then precipitate to the depths like a gentle snow drift. We then carefully, and expertly select the perfect moment for the ice-like flakes to be hand harvested from our pans. This is the crucial moment. Our process for making the brine combines the three most recognised sources of renewable energy: Biomass, Wind and Solar.

The last phase is to drain and dry the sea salt in our closely monitored drying rooms. This is paramount in creating the perfect texture of the sea salt that offers an explosive but gentle crunch to our foods.

Soap Scubbies make a great addition to your bathroom. They are made of a cotton flannel material and are handmade locally by 'Ocean Stitch'. You can hang them in the shower and use them as a soap mitt or alternatively they have a small pocket to store your soap in and make it easy for traveling.

Another great hack to these scrubbies is that if you have any old bars of soap that are getting a bit small to handle and are easy to lose you can pop them into your scrubbie and they will lather up through the fabric. This makes sure none of your soap ends get wasted!

Sodium carbonate also known as soda ash/ washing soda is a white crystalline powder, which is a great natural cleaner, effectively tackling dirt and working as a stain remover. The abrasive nature cuts through grime/grease and cleans various items around the household.

Bathrooms

Mix up a teaspoon of soda ash with 2 cups of water in a spray bottle and apply to porcelain bath and sink fixtures. This will break down the soap residue and will help rid of any water marks.

Dirty tea towels

Use strong solution of soda and and hot water to remove dirt and grease.

Laundry boost

You can pre-soak dirty clothes in a bucket with 1 cup soda ash and 1 L of warm water, this will remove the dirt and stains then you can rinse as normal.

Slippery/slimy paths

Sprinkle on slimy paths and driveways, dampen, then leave for at least 12 hours, brush off.

Soft light brown sugar is a pure cane sugar with buttery caramel notes. Perfect for sauces, moist sponges and cookies. 

The light brown colour of this sugar comes from it's small percentage content of molasses. In comparison, dark brown sugar contains almost double the molasses of light brown sugar. I.e. the darker the colour of the sugar, the more molasses it contains. 

If a recipe doesn't specify 'light' or 'dark' brown sugar, it normally means use light brown sugar.
