On the Go

This summer we launched a giveaway competition on our social media. The competition was to create a design to be printed onto some tote bags with the theme zero-waste, saving the planet, and all things Lemon & Jinja. We had so many incredible entries and it was so hard to choose one winner... so we picked two.

The first design that we are so excited to show you is by a lovely customer of ours, Eva. We absolutely love this design of our name amongst the rainforest with all the animals! We think it really highlights why we do this, to help our planet! It also reminds us of have wild we all are!

We have a limited number of these tote bags printed, so get in quick before they go!

Recycled ocean plastic folding litter picker. Waterhaul created a folding litter picker with the handle, trigger and jaw components made from 100% recycled polypropylene fishing gear. Portable, durable and lightweight to enable you to take positive action against plastic pollution. Modular and repairable for easy maintenance. Made in the UK from Traceable Marine Plastic.

33" folding litter picker for adults and 22" folding litter picker for kids.

Made in the UK, moulded and assembled in England. Designed with circular concepts in mind: repairable and recyclable.

The bags are constructed from spinnaker sails; a lightweight but highly durable form of sail. Every single bag will be unique in appearance, depending on the donor sail and what position it was cut from.

- Easy to wash out (an outdoor hose is perfect) and reuse.

- Seams are sewn with recycled cotton thread.

- Custom-fit for the litter picking hoops, but can be used seperately.

Made in Cornwall, from end-of-life sail cloth waste.

The BeeWrapUK beeswax wraps are now on sale - we have stocked these wraps since the day we opened! But sadly the company has closed down, so we have a new supplier. Now's the chance to grab your boob wraps at a discounted price...!

Once they're gone, they're gone!

Why we love beeswax wraps at L+J: Cling film is seen as a necessity for preserving foods - but now you can make an easy swap! Although not suitable for raw meats and fish (put them in tupperware!), it is great for everything else.

How to use them? The wrap will just stick to itself (like cling film) Made from natural ingredients, they respond to their environment. If it is warmer they typically feel softer, if colder they may feel harder and not as sticky.

How to Use
Use the warmth of your hands to press and mould your wrap firmly around the item to be stored. Place the wrapped item in the refrigerator or take them with you on the go for your sandwiches and rolls.

How to Clean
Wash your beeswax wraps in COOL WATER with eco-friendly dish soap. Rinse and air dry before storing in your kitchen draw. The natural coating on your wrap will dissolve in alcohol so check your dish washing liquid before washing your wraps.

Avoid Heat
Because beeswax wraps are made from natural beeswax they need to be kept away from all sources of heat, including hot water, steam, hot food and flames. Wait until the food is cool and then cover with it with your wrap. Avoid putting them in the dishwasher, microwave oven, or anywhere they can get hot.

Summer Time Caution
Avoid leaving beeswax wraps in hot places such as direct sunlight or in a parked car. In hot weather, please keep wrapped items such as sandwiches, cut vegetables, fruit or cheese, in an esky with an ice pack.

How Long Does Beeswax Wrap Last
If you follow these care instructions, your beeswax wrap will last up to a year. With day to day use, stains and creases may appear, but these don’t affect your wraps ability to do their job.

Making chocolate 100% exploitation free...!

Tony's bars are incredible - in the way they look but also their taste! We love every single one of them (which is why we have so many!)

Tony's mission: Tony’s mission is together we’ll make 100% slave free the norm in chocolate

Tony’s sourcing principles for slave free cocoa: We show that chocolate can be made differently, without slavery and exploitation. We’ve developed our own recipe for slave free cocoa with five ingredients. It enables the farmers to earn a living income. It also ensures that we know exactly where our beans come from and allows us to work with the farmers to eliminate the abuses in the industry!

Tony’s partner cooperatives
The cocoa farmers are affiliated with our partner cooperatives, which comprise Kapatchiva, Ecojad and ECAM in the Ivory Coast and ABOCFA, Asetenapa and Asunafo in Ghana. Tony’s Impact team regularly travels to Ghana and Ivory Coast to visit the partner cooperatives and attend the annual meetings. It goes without saying that we always take an extra bag of Tony’s chocolate with us so that the farmers can see the results of all their hard work.

Our reusable food & sandwich wrap is great to wrap your sandwich, bagel and other food items and also doubles as a mat. A great solution for litterless lunches. This reusable organic cotton sandwich/food wrap is a great alternative to disposable plastic bags and wrap. Ideal for sandwiches, snacks, travel and storage.

Features: 100% cotton exterior with waterproof liner to help keep food fresher for longer. Easy and secure velcro closure. Lead, Phthalate and BPA free. Easy care: Rinse to clean and machine washable. Hang to dry. Size: 14” Diameter.

Greasy roots be gone! Voila! Just like that, this natural, eco-friendly dry shampoo will have your hair looking and smelling fresh and floral.

Whether you need to freshen up between washes, survive a festival or camping trip without your mane looking insane, or simply want your locks to smell amazing, Scrubber dry shampoo is the best eco-friendly option for your hair and our planet.

Our Ylang & Rose scented dry shampoo combines the warm, almost fruity fragrance of Ylang Ylang with the darker floral scent of Rose. It has undertones of sweet jasmine and vanilla.

The result is an earthy scent that has both muskier bass notes and fruitier, floral high notes.

Unlike most commercial dry shampoos that use aerosols, plastic packed packaging and a list of chemicals scarier than the contents of a witch’s cauldron, Scrubber dry shampoo uses effective natural ingredients that are kind to your scalp and kind to nature.

The ethically sourced powers and clays that make up our dry shampoo banish greasy looking roots and are mildly antibacterial, making your hair feel and look fresh. The scent is mild but fragrant, making your hair smell fresh and floral, without it being a constant intrusion for your nose!

Packaged in cardboard, recyclable shakers, our dry shampoo is plastic (and guilt) free!

Shade SPF25 is not just another sunscreen. It’s a thoughtfully crafted, minimalist formula designed for sensitive skin, everyday wear, and peace of mind.

Made with just four natural ingredients, this concentrated water-free balm provides broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection while nourishing your skin and respecting the planet.

Why people love Shade

• Broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection

• Made with only 4 natural ingredients

• Concentrated, water-free formula

• Reef and freshwater friendly

• Cruelty-free

• Minimal formula suitable for sensitive skin

• Multi-use balm for everyday skincare

• Plastic-free, recyclable and reusable packaging

• Available in two handy sizes: 15ml and 100ml

Shade is designed to be kept close by all year round. Alongside sun protection, it also works beautifully as a soothing skin salve for:

• Chapped lips

• Dry skin

• Insect bites

• Eczema-prone skin

• Nappy rash

• Everyday dry patches and irritation

How to apply

Apply Shade generously to all exposed skin before sun exposure.

Face

Use 1 large pea-sized amount for the face and neck.

Body

• 3 to 4 generous pea-sized amounts per exposed limb

• 4 generous pea-sized amounts for the torso

You’re aiming for even, visible coverage, not a tiny amount rubbed in until it disappears.

Reapplying

Reapply regularly throughout the day, especially:

• After swimming

• After towelling

• After sweating or exercise

• After skin rubbing or contact

• During long periods outdoors

Reapplying helps maintain protection, but it does not reset your sun exposure to zero.

About the white cast

Shade is a mineral sunscreen, so a slight white cast is completely normal. That isn’t a flaw. It’s often the clearest sign you’ve applied enough product for effective protection.

The white cast will usually soften as it settles into the skin, but protection begins immediately.

If you apply so little that it completely disappears purely to avoid the white cast, you are likely under-protecting your skin.

A note on sun safety

Shade is for responsible sun-lovers.

It helps protect your skin, but it does not make you invincible.

Shade is SPF25, not a free pass to spend six hours roasting in full sun. Check the UV index, wear protective clothing where needed, and use common sense.

If your skin is starting to redden, your body is telling you it has had too much sun. At that point, you need:

• Shade

• Clothing

• A hat

• Or simply less sun

We can make great sunscreen. The rest is up to you.
