Black salt, or kala noon, is a type of rock salt, a salty and pungent-smelling condiment used in South Asia. The condiment is composed largely of sodium chloride with several other components lending the salt its colour and smell. The smell is mainly due to its sulphur content. Due to the presence of Greigite (Fe3S4, Iron(II, III) sulfide) in the mineral, it forms brownish pink to dark violet translucent crystals when whole, and, when ground into a powder, it is light purple to pink in colour.

Crispy Fried Onions are thinly sliced onions deep-fried in oil till golden brown and crisp. Use these for making curries, biryani, soups, and dals. Sprinkle on top of salads for a delicious crunch and flavour.

Nutritional yeast, also known as ‘nooch’,  comes from a species of yeast known as Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Nutritional yeast is similar to the yeast that people use in baking, but it undergoes a heating and drying process that renders it inactive.

Nutritional yeast is dairy-free and usually gluten-free. As a result, it can be a useful supplement for people with food allergies or sensitivities, as well as those on restricted diets. It is also low in fat and contains no sugar or soy.

Our nutritional yeast is fortified in vitamin B12, which is particularly important for those on a vegetarian or vegan diet where this vitamin is only found in animal products. 

It can be added to recipes to make a ‘cheese’ sauce, or stirred into mash potato. Why not also try adding it on top of baked beans? Yum!

To stuff meat or poultry or use on it's own as stuffing balls! Vegan and just EXCEPTIONAL! Add 1 litre of boiling water to 340g stuffing mix, stir well, and allow to stand for 15 mins before use.

Sun dried tomato halves with salt.

Maximise the flavour of these intense Sun dried tomatoes by adding to recipes at the beginning, or rehydrate by soaking in hot water for 20 minutes. Rinse, drain and store in good quality olive oil for use at anytime.

Also known as “Wheat gluten” or “Wheat protein”, it is made by hydrating wheat flour to activate gluten and then processing it to remove everything but the gluten. Vital wheat gluten is the main ingredient in seitan (SAY-tan), which is often used as a meat substitute on a plant based diet.  When the gluten dough is steamed, baked, boiled or otherwise cooked, it becomes chewy with a very meat-like texture. 

Vital wheat gluten is high in selenium and iron, high in protein and low in carbohydrates and fats. However, it is unsuitable if you have a gluten sensitivity or are coeliac.
