If there are none available on the shelf, they are made to order, so please leave us up to a week to make them, whilst we get back into the festive spirit!

It’s quite the marketing myth that Christmas cakes must be made weeks in advance! Here is a straightforward recipe for a cake that can be made at ANY time. So now you don’t need to succumb to all the early hyped nonsense. Make it ahead if you like to prep, or even on Christmas Eve...!

In the jar: apricots, sultanas, currants, dates, dried cranberries and glace cherries.

In the paper bag: muscovado sugar, plain flour, baking powder and mixed spice.

Buy, or grab from home:

• 75g nuts (optional), eg. almonds, walnuts or pecans, chopped to your preference
• 225ml cold black tea
• 100ml whisky, brandy, Cointreau or sloe gin, whatever you prefer
• 75ml orange juice
• 1 orange, zest only
• 2 tbsp black treacle (golden syrup works too)
• 200g butter or dairy free spread, slightly soft
• 5 eggs, lightly beaten (vegan alternatives available too)
• 20cm round tin

Each jar comes with full instructions, a list of ingredients and some icing options (marzipan and fondant, or buttercream), so there’s no thinking required.

The jars contain gluten and sulphites. If you would like a gluten free alternative, please get in touch and we can make one for you.

Begin the festive season with a calm, creative evening at Lemon & Jinja.

In this relaxed two-hour workshop, you’ll be guided through simple yet beautiful painting techniques to create and decorate your own set of three ceramic Christmas baubles.

You’ll learn how to work with colour, pattern and detail to create baubles that feel personal and unique to you. Whether you choose traditional festive colours, something a little more colourful, or simply follow your own creative instincts, you’ll leave with three handmade decorations ready to hang on your tree, give as thoughtful gifts, or keep as a special reminder of the season.

No previous painting experience is needed. This is a gentle, creative session designed to help you slow down, switch off and enjoy some time away from the Christmas rush. Alison will guide you through each step, so you can relax, experiment and have fun with your painting.

All materials and refreshments are included in your ticket.

Want to keep painting? Additional ceramic baubles will be available to purchase on the evening for £3 each, so you can create a few more to add to your collection.

About the artist:

Ali is a professional calligraphy and watercolour artist, specialising in creating memorable creative experiences through live illustration, bespoke commissions and relaxing, creative workshops in Hampshire and beyond! She was always obsessed with creativity! Even as a young child, she would spend hours drawing, making and creating.

Ali was a teacher for 19 years - it has made sense to transfer these skills to teaching adult workshops. Teaching workshops is such a passion for her - she have taught a wide range of calligraphy and watercolour classes since 2021, with many attendees joining her repeatedly. We cannot wait to welcome her in!

From Ali 'Time and time again, I have listened to them say how relaxed and present they feel! This is so important to me: I want to encourage everyone to connect with themself and discover a new creative hobby. My mission with my workshops is simple: to provide a space for people to come and be creative, and to share as much of my knowledge as I possibly can with them!'

This workshop takes place upstairs at Lemon & Jinja.

Spaces are limited, so book early and treat yourself to a creative escape.

Our Mulled Wine Jars are handmade in store and contain all the ingredients to make a delicious mulled wine mix.

Simply add your mix to one bottle's worth (750ml) of red wine and simmer until the sugar has dissolved and it smells fragrant.

Best served warm.

Ingredients: brown sugar, cloves, star anise, cinnamon, nutmeg, figs (sulphur).

We will start by making these to order, so please give us a lead time of 5 days.

We absolutely love working with Beaulieu Candle Company. They’re a brilliant local business, and funnily enough one of our team used to work with the owner – such a small world.

Add a little handmade sparkle to your Christmas this year!

Join us at Lemon & Jinja on Wednesday 4th November, 6 - 8pm, for a lovely creative evening with Linda Rowe, discovering the beautiful art of fused glass and making your own festive decorations.

You’ll have the chance to experiment with a gorgeous selection of coloured glass, shapes and textures to design decorations that are completely unique to you. Whether you love traditional Christmas colours or fancy creating something a little more contemporary, you can let your imagination run wild and make something truly special.

Linda will guide you through the process, sharing her knowledge and helping you bring your designs to life. No previous experience is needed, so whether you’re a seasoned crafter or simply fancy trying something new, everyone is welcome!

Once you’ve finished creating, your designs will be kiln-fired to transform the pieces of glass into beautiful finished decorations. They’ll make a lovely addition to your own Christmas tree, a thoughtful handmade gift for someone special, or a keepsake to bring out year after year.
