For use on full body. For optimum moisturisation apply after a bath or shower. Alternatively, apply a grape sized amount to the soles of your feet before bed, the pores here are larger allowing the magnesium to enter your bloodstream faster. Magnesium is said to aid sleep, restless legs and cramps.

Storage basket made from natural seagrass, weaved together with recycled sari fabrics. Old saris are sold by households to pedlars in Bangladesh where they are upcycled into new items. The colour of each bowl varies depending on the sari fabric that is available at the time - each one is unique & sold separately! Made in Bangladesh.

This set of three tall nesting baskets offers a practical and cost effective way of adding storage and texture to the home.

Each basket is woven by hand from renewable and sustainable jute fibres and has a little fabric ReSpiin label stitched onto the rim. The baskets vary in size and work well for all sorts of storage such as pens, keys, toys or even house plants (just ensure the plant pot itself does not have drainage holes!).

Made responsibly in Bangladesh from natural jute.

Wipe clean. Not suitable for use in very damp environments as the fibres draw moisture from the air.

SUSTAINABLE

Jute plants are easy to grow, have a high yield per acre and, unlike cotton, have little need for pesticides and fertilisers. Jute grows during the rainy season in Bangladesh which is from June to October. The plants are ready to harvest in four to six months, after the flowers are shed.

The fibres lie beneath the bark around the woody core. To extract the fibre, the jute bundles are submersed in water and left for a few days until the fibres come loose and are ready for stripping from the stalk, then washed and dried. This is what the ReSpiin baskets are made from. The remaining jute stalks can be used in a similar way to wood pulp, or work well as a renewable source of cooking fuel.

Jute plants help to clean the air. During growth they take in three times more CO2 than the average tree, converting this CO2 into oxygen. Jute plants also enrich the soil. As these plants grow fast, they are often used in crop rotation. The leaves and roots left after harvest enrich the soil with micronutrients, maintaining soil fertility. Jute is 100% biodegradable.

NATURAL

The baskets and bowls are made from both natural jute and coloured jute. The coloured jute is 100% Azo free.

ReSpiin storage bowls and baskets are hand woven in Bangladesh through a supplier working towards WFTO membership. The supplier is committed to providing regular employment in a working environment that is safe and hygienic, and they pay a living wage to all employees. Together they have developed an innovative way of producing jute rope and stylish jute baskets which means they can produce a much higher return from the jute than when it is sold for basic jute sacks.

These Willdflower seeds are grown and harvested in Dorset by Seed Revolution. They take a no-nonsense approach to the biodiversity crisis, with loud, in your face branding. Their aim is to both educate people on the imminent threat to native natural habitats, whilst also reconnecting people with nature.
