Did you know that every time we wash synthetic clothing like fleece, sportswear, leggings and polyester garments, tiny plastic fibres are released into the water? These microplastics are too small for most washing machines and wastewater treatment plants to capture, meaning they can end up in our rivers, oceans and even our food chain.

The GUPPYFRIEND® Washing Bag is a simple but effective solution. Just place your synthetic clothing inside the bag, zip it up and wash as normal. The specially designed micro-filter fabric reduces fibre shedding from your clothes and captures the microplastic fibres that are released during washing, preventing them from going down the drain.

After your wash, simply remove your clothes, collect the trapped fibres from the inside seam of the bag and dispose of them in your general waste.

How to use

1. Place synthetic garments inside the GUPPYFRIEND® Washing Bag. Don't overfill, your clothes need room to move.

2. Zip the bag closed and wash as normal (up to 40°C).

3. Remove your clothes while they're still damp.

4. Collect the trapped microfibres from the inner hem and dispose of them in your household waste.

Care

• Wash at a maximum of 40°C.

• Use liquid detergent where possible.

• Do not tumble dry, iron or rinse under running water.

• Remove pet hair and heavy dirt before washing.

• Wash alongside other laundry or another GUPPYFRIEND® bag to help balance the washing machine.
