The Peanut is a legume nut grown for its edible seeds. Peanuts are an especially good source of healthy fats, protein, and fibre. They also contain plenty of potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, and B vitamins. Despite being high in calories, peanuts are nutrient-rich and low in carbohydrates.

Peanuts are a popular snack eaten raw, roasted or blended to make peanut butter. You can even coat them in chocolate for a sweet snack!

The pecan is a nut from a species of hickory trees. The nut is a nutrition powerhouse loaded with vitamins and minerals.

What’s more, raw pecans are even cholesterol-free, sodium-free, and low in carbohydrates. With their rich, buttery flavour and natural sweetness, they make a tasty and satisfying snack. 

Pecans are great added to salads, rice dishes, and covered in chocolate or caramel. They are a good nut to bake with, chopped up in a cake mix, add to flapjack or even try adding on top for decoration.

Notably, pistachios are one of the most vitamin B6-rich foods around.

Vitamin B6 is important for several bodily functions, including blood sugar regulation and the formation of hemoglobin, a molecule that carries oxygen in red blood cells.

Pistachios are also rich in potassium, with one ounce containing more potassium than half of a large banana.

Pistachio’s make a great snack and can also be added to baking. They are particularly delicious on top of brownies!
