Repair, Rework and Relove your clothes with Resewn Textiles!
This event will be held upstairs at Lemon and Jinja

Wednesday 4th November | 6-8pm

Join Zoë from Resewn Textiles for a relaxed, hands-on sewing workshop exploring how simple stitching can help you repair, customise and fall in love with your clothes all over again.

You don’t need to wait until a favourite garment is completely worn out to start mending it. This workshop is about seeing repair as a creative opportunity, rather than simply a way to fix something that’s broken. From covering worn areas with colourful patches to adding decorative stitching and embroidery, you’ll discover how small changes can give your clothes a whole new lease of life.

Bring along a favourite item of clothing that you’d like to repair, customise or experiment with. Zoë will guide you through a range of beginner-friendly techniques, helping you build the confidence and skills to continue repairing and personalising your clothes at home.

During the workshop, you’ll explore:

  • Basic hand sewing techniques

  • Creative patching and decorative repair

  • Simple embroidery and decorative stitching

  • Ways to personalise clothing using colour, stitch and texture

  • How repairing and caring for clothes can help extend their lifespan

  • How to get more creative with the clothes you already own

You’ll leave with:

  • A repaired or personalised garment, or the confidence and skills to continue at home

  • New sewing skills you can use again and again

  • Ideas and inspiration for making your wardrobe more sustainable

  • A fresh perspective on repairing, reusing and enjoying the clothes you already have

All materials, including reclaimed fabrics, threads and sewing equipment, are provided. Just bring along the item of clothing you’d like to work on.

With just 15 spaces available, this will be a relaxed and personal workshop with plenty of time for guidance and support from Zoë.

No previous sewing experience is needed! Just bring a garment, an open mind and a willingness to have a go!
